Winter Ball + Pirate Party

I’ve had an eventful weekend - Friday was the Manchester University Winter Ball at the Jarvis Hotel in Piccadilly Gardens. Saturday was my housemate Bennett’s 21st birthday, and we had a Pirate Themed party in our house. Both were great fun - check out the photos on the Gallery page!

Gallery added

I have now added a Gallery to my site, powered by flickr and the FAlbum plugin for Wordpress.  You’ll also notice a nice “Random Photo” on my sidebar.  I’ll try to add photos to the gallery whenever I take interesting ones.

Camino 1.0 Released

I’ve been using nightly builds of Camino for a while - for some reason I just like it better than Safari. It uses the Gecko rendering engine - like Firefox - but is much better integrated with OS X. Today, version 1.0 has been released! Try it out if you’re a Mac user.

MySpace

I now have a MySpace Artist Profile (or Band Profile, although I could hardly be described as a Band) where you can listen to some of my music. Add me as a friend!

iPod Nano

With my 4G iPod now permanently installed in a dock and plugged into the stereo system at home, I needed to get my fix of portable music again. Last week Apple launched a 1GB iPod Nano for only £100 (after student discount). Seeing as I would have to pick and choose music from my collection anyway, 1GB is quite enough. They really are the coolest little gadgets in the world. I am now listening to Drive By Truckers in a university computer lab.

Redesign

As you may be able to notice, I have given this site a facelift and changed to a Wordpress-based blog. After much fiddling with .htaccess and importing all the entries from the old blog, it now seems to be working! The major feature which has been added is comments - you can now interact and let me know what you think of any of my blog posts. So why not start by letting me know what you think of the new layout?
