I deliberately avoided the seasonal greetings; there are just too many events around this time of year and wishing that everyone enjoyed them all may be a little excessive. Much of the population of the planet does agree on the same arbitrary point in its orbit to call a year boundary, and so I hope everyone enjoyed theirs. If you’re not leaving this particular lap around the sun behind tonight, please have a good time whenever you do.
I’m in Cornwall again, and had the most amazing night I’ve had in a while. Watching fireworks obscure the crystal-clear night sky while surrounded by hundreds of people in various entertaining costumes was great fun. A quick 2007 baptism in the English Channel was followed by watching a pantomime horse running up and down the beach. New Year in Looe is highly recommended.

Though granted that still isn’t the majority.
